Join the Glass Links Mail List

Celebrate365 sponsors the Glass Links Mail List ... dedicated to queries and discussions related to contemporary glass ornaments.

Since its inaugural 34-page issue in October 1999, Celebrate365 has provided readers with up-to-the-minute ornament news as well as carefully researched historical articles.

On July 5, 2003, the journal added another facet to its repertoire when it became the official sponsor of the Glass Links.

The Links, as it is popularly nicknamed, is an email-based glass ornament discussion list. Created in February 1997, the Links became the “conversation” arm of Radko Links (www.radkolinks.org). Connie Porcher and Terrie Armentrout, two Ohio Radko collectors, met online in the Williams Nursery chat room. Although they had never met in person, the duo brainstormed ideas for researching Christopher Radko retailers throughout the nation.

After assembling multiple web browser bookmarks and consulting fellow collectors, the pair launched Radko Links during the fall of 1996. The Glass Links discussion list, housed at Indiana University, soon followed. By February 1997, the mail list comprised a membership of 28 devoted ornament collectors. The rest, as they say, is history.

With over 300 subscribers, Celebrate365 is now the official host of the privately sponsored discussion list. That’s good news for C365 subscribers. A yearly print subscription now also entitles one to the online Glass Links membership. Each C365 subscriber may enroll two personal email addresses. (Examples of personal addresses would include husband/wife or domestic partner subscribers or an individual who wishes to subscribe both at home and at work. There is a limit of two email addresses per household.)

If you’d like to participate in online discussions but don’t have a computer at home, check with your local library. Most offer Internet computer connections as a free service. You must have an email address in order to subscribe to the Glass Links. You can sign up for a free address at www.hotmail.com or www.yahoo.com. It’s that simple. Hope you’ll join us online soon!
